Introducing The Peter Wulff Center

The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do.

Kobe Bryant

Sometimes in death people can inspire others who have an opportunity to reflect on the life they lived. Peter Wulff was one such person. He wa a selfless, talented, funny, generous and a clever human being but one could never know this when he was alive as he remained invisible but reached out to anyone in need. Although his untimely death left much unfinished the creation of The Peter Wulff Center hopes to finish some of his work through reaching out to others in need. Peter was also an educator and accordingly it would have been important for him to emphasize the educational and psychological aspects of the dynamic art of giving.

The center works towards providing skills training for an underprivileged population. Many of the recipients of the training are women who have no opportunities to work outside the home so will train here in order to be able to earn an income to support their families. At present a Tailoring program and a Beautician course is training 100 women. There is also a computer center with 4 computers shared by 300 youth but more are needed to provide technology skills necessary in today’s world.

The development of this center aspires towards bringing diverse people together to build a place for creating, learning, exploring and socializing with the purpose of achieving goals. Each board member has over 20 years experience in working at various nonprofits in addition to working at the award winning Chess Without Borders program. This chess program besides establishing chess in the area raised over $222,000 for donations to local and global charities. The Advisory Board members are youth graduates of service learning who helped raise these funds while also becoming successful, driven individuals.
